Day 1: Trusting God's Promises
Reading: Numbers 13:1-2, 17-20
Message: "Attitude & Altitude" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
Devotional: God's promises are the foundation of our faith journey. Just as He promised Canaan to the Israelites, He has promises for us today. However, these promises often come with instructions and require our active participation. Reflect on the promises God has given you. Are you following His instructions? Are you taking steps of faith towards those promises, even when the path seems uncertain? Remember, God's promises are not just about the destination, but also about the journey of faith He takes us on. Today, commit to trusting God's promises and following His guidance, even when it requires stepping out of your comfort zone.
Day 2: Overcoming Negative Perspectives
Reading: Numbers 13:23-33
Message: "Attitude & Altitude" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
Devotional: Our perspective can either propel us forward or hold us back. The spies saw the same land, but had vastly different reactions. While most focused on the obstacles, Caleb and Joshua saw opportunities. How often do we let negative perspectives cloud our vision of God's promises? Today, challenge yourself to see your circumstances through God's eyes. Where others see impossibilities, look for God's possibilities. Remember, with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). Ask the Holy Spirit to help you cultivate a faith-filled perspective that sees beyond the obstacles to the promises of God.
Day 3: The Power of a Positive Attitude
Reading: Numbers 13:30-31, Philippians 4:8
Message: "Attitude & Altitude" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
Devotional: Caleb's attitude set him apart. In the face of daunting challenges, he remained confident in God's ability to fulfill His promises. Our attitude is a choice, and it profoundly impacts our spiritual journey. Paul encourages us to focus our thoughts on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Today, make a conscious effort to cultivate a positive, faith-filled attitude. When negative thoughts arise, counter them with God's truths. Your attitude not only affects you but also influences those around you. How can your positive, God-centered attitude inspire faith in others today?
Day 4: Silencing Negative Voices
Reading: Proverbs 18:20-21, Ephesians 4:29
Message: "Attitude & Altitude" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
Devotional: Words have immense power - they can build up or tear down, inspire faith or sow doubt. Caleb "quieted the people," refusing to let negative voices dominate. In our own lives, we must be vigilant about the voices we allow to influence us, including our own inner voice. Are you speaking life and faith over your situations, or allowing doubt and fear to take root? Today, practice being intentional with your words. Speak God's promises over your life and circumstances. Encourage someone else with uplifting words. Remember, your words can be a powerful tool for God's kingdom.
Day 5: Rising to New Heights with God
Reading: Joshua 14:6-14, Philippians 3:13-14
Message: "Attitude & Altitude" by Pastor Dexter B. Upshaw Jr.
Devotional: Your attitude determines your altitude in your spiritual journey. Caleb's unwavering faith and positive attitude not only got him into the Promised Land but also secured him a special inheritance. Even at 85, he was ready for new challenges, demonstrating that a God-centered attitude keeps us young in spirit and faith. Reflect on your own spiritual altitude. Are you settling for less than God's best, or are you pressing on towards the high calling of God in Christ Jesus? Today, commit to raising your spiritual altitude. Set new goals for your walk with God, step out in faith for that ministry He's called you to, or tackle that spiritual discipline you've been avoiding. Remember, with the right attitude, there's no limit to how high God can take you!
